Assessment

The Scholastic areas of assessment:

This type of assessment does not include only the pen and paper tests but there are various other ways of knowing how well the child has mastered a particular concept which also includes The Revision through Teaching Sessions, Knowledge Polish, thinking Out of the Box questionnaires, Brain Work, Word Web, etc. along with Unit Tests and Term Exams as prescribed by CBSE.

Assessment Policy

The academic year is divided into two terms and each term has two assessment reports. Each assessment report is based on the continuous evaluation based on class activities, worksheets and assignments on day to day basis.

Classes I & II

The academic year is divided into two terms and each term has two assessment reports. There shall be no formal examinations for classes I & II. The students will be assessed on the basis of day to day performances and regular classroom observations. The assessments would comprise of worksheets, assignments, recitation, reading, group discussions, dictations, project works, quizzes, extempore, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), interactions, Short Answer Questions (SAQs), field projects, etc.

Classes III to VIII

Evaluation of academic subjects in classes III to VIII is done through two terms. Each term shall have TWO rounds of Periodic Assessments (PAs) and TWO Term Exams (Half Yearly/Annual Exam). Both terms carry equal weightage.

Classes IX and X

The academic year will be divided into two terms and examination will be held at the end of each term. Final/Board Examination for classes IX and X would be conducted for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus. School-based evaluation for 20 marks comprising Written Test (10 marks) restricted to three in each subject in an Academic year, Notebook Submission (5 marks) and Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks) will be considered. School will conduct Class-IX Final Examination for 80 marks in each subject. The gradually increasing portion of contents would prepare students to acquire confidence of appearing in the board examination next year in Class-X. Evaluation for 20 marks comprising Written Test (10 marks) restricted to three in each subject in an Academic year, Notebook Submission (5 marks) and Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks) will be considered. Average of the best two tests to be taken for final marks submission.

The Co Scholastic areas of assessment

This assessment involves the non-scholastic areas of learning such as dance, music, school clubs, various squads, health, personality, attitude, social, values which are very much embedded into the study of knowing the child as a whole. The aspects of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork are the generic criteria for grading the co-scholastic activities like Work Education, Art Education and Health and Physical Education. Apart from this, the students are also assessed for the Discipline which is based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society and nation. The given activities will be graded on a 5-point grading scale (A to E).
